Granville Island Vancouver, British Columbia

EZ Street Asphalt utilized to complete track fill project with a few simple hand tools.

Granville Island is a busy shopping district in Vancouver, British Columbia. An abandoned set of railway tracks runs around the Island. Over time, the tracks have created trip hazards as they continue to settle and sink.

Granville Island is a tourist hot spot with narrow streets and a large amount of foot traffic. In the past, traditional patching methods were used to repair the settled tracks, involving a large crew, trucks, and compaction equipment. Given the limited work window, this type of repair can be very expensive considering the small amount of asphalt that actually gets placed.

The Granville Island Works Department trialed EZ Street cold asphalt in 50lb bags and is now able to complete the work with two men, some hand tools and a wheel barrow.
